great job at TBC

I'm proud of this team every one did there best and left it all out there. what a great time we had Steve, Travis, and, Shauna realy tore up the TT. little scary at the road race with the girls but thank God there were only cuts and scrapes. It did mess up the rest of their weekend as far as strategy goes and all the great work that Kathy Connolly had done in preparing, but they stayed troopers and finished Sunday strong. I was glad I could help out Steve in the road race and get him over the last climb after we had gotten separated from about a 12-man split off the front. Overall, we only lost a minute that day. I guess it could have been worse. On Sunday, at the circuit race, we did make up some ground. We tried to control the front, at least for a while. The final lap was really tough, and Steve and I stayed with the front as the field broke up. As we came around the final turn up to the finish, I didn't think I had anything left, but the legs responded and I was surprised to find myself sprinting for the finish with only about 6 others, and finished 4th. Overall, I am so proud of the team, and know that we will only continue to get stronger as we get more experience together. And above all that, we have to remember this about having a lot of fun and where we finish is not as important as how we ride as a team!

  1. "When it get's hard, hammer. If you get dropped, chase"...that's all the sympathy I got from my coach when I told him I got dropped on the road race and went another 1:12 down.

With other advice, he said "In races, decide what you need to do and try to do it. Never decide that you can't do it. Just try. If you're successful, that means you could do it. If you're not successful, you couldn't do it; no decision."

  2. Awesome post. I need to be reminded of this. The mental games we play with ourselves are so defeating.
I have decided that I can do the 3:05 time for Tour De Phoenix. How about you guy's and gal's? Have you made that decision yet!
